THREE’S A CHARM: SELECT MANAGEMENT GROUP AND FLIP MANAGEMENT FOUNDERS MERGE COMPANIES TO CREATE ENTERTAINMENT’S LEADER IN NEXT GEN MANAGEMENT
Industry veterans Lisa Filipelli, Scott Fisher, and Adam Wescott bring together their all-star rosters of digital talent including Tyler Oakley, Ingrid Nilsen, Amanda Steele, LaurDIY,
Gigi Gorgeous, and MyLifeAsEva to form a power management team
LOS ANGELES, CA – August 7, 2018 – Flip Management and Select Management Group today announced that they have come together for a new era of digital talent management. The newly merged 25-person team will operate as Select Management Group, and will be run by all three partners Lisa Filipelli, Scott Fisher, and Adam Wescott, from Select’s headquarters in Los Angeles with plans to expand to NYC by end of year.
“We saw Flip Management as our only equal. We have admired the Flip team’s successes under Lisa’s guidance and realized the great power and potential of uniting our teams to become the undisputable industry leaders and the perfect talent management firm for the next generation of Hollywood,“ said Select partners Scott Fisher and Adam Wescott.
A leader in the world of digital talent, Emmy-nominated Filipelli founded Flip Management in 2017. She has leveraged opportunities for clients across feature films, TV, touring, merchandise, books, consumer products, and national and international ad campaigns for Marc Jacobs, Olay, Smashbox, BVLGARI, and more. Filipelli’s producing credits include a Daytime Emmy nomination for AwesomenessTV’s ”Zac & Mia,” Tyler Oakley’s feature documentary ”Snervous,” and ”The Tyler Oakley Show” with Telepictures and Ellen DeGeneres.
“The three of us have worked parallel in this industry for years. Combining our knowledge ensures that we are able to deliver the first class service that we are known for in this ever-changing world. Select has an excellent track record and, when combined with what Flip has been able to accomplish, we just knew that we could each bring our expertise and achieve more together” added Lisa Filipelli.
As part of this all-stock transaction, Filipelli, Fisher, and Wescott also announced the formation of a new parent company Third Act, which houses ownership interests in Select Management Group. Third Act will also house the partners’ expanded efforts to develop original productions and ventures aimed to diversify the digital-first world.
Select was one of the first digital talent management companies to emerge in entertainment in 2011. The independently-owned company has grown rapidly under the leadership of Fisher and Wescott, pioneering long-term ambassador deals with digital talent and major brands including Gigi Gorgeous’ groundbreaking deal as Revlon’s first transgender spokesperson, LaurDIY and MyLifeAsEva as the faces of Coca-Cola’s rebooted “Wanta Fanta” campaign, in addition to partnerships with Starbucks, Crest.
Under the company’s SelectNext arm, which develops owned-and-operated, original productions, Fisher and Wescott executive produced “This Is Everything: Gigi Gorgeous,” the critically-acclaimed, award-winning documentary directed by Oscar-winning director Barbara Kopple, which premiered as an official selection at the Sundance Film Festival, and the YouTube Original comedy “Me and My Grandma.” Additional ventures include Lash Next Door mascara with Brooklyn and Bailey McKnight, product licensing campaigns for clients including LaurDIY, Casey Holmes and more. As part of this transaction, SelectNext and the underlying IP it owns will roll into Third Act under its newly-formed entertainment unit.
The newly combined teams continue to blaze a bright trail into the future, challenging long-standing norms, blurring the lines between traditional and digital talent while leading the charge in building the careers of the world’s next generation of extraordinary talent.
